Lower Teifi River Conditions and Reports

River Report August
Published: 12/08/2016
Congratulations to Mike Evans our Head Guide, who caught and returned a superb Sea Trout of !4lb a few weeks ago. This is the largest Sea Trout caught by rod and line on the River Teifi this season and it came off our own private waters. Well done Mike!!

This season has been hampered by the amount of rain that has fell since mid June, giving way to a continuous
rise and fall of a foot or more of water on a regular basis. This has pushed the fish through and not been conducive to them settling in the pools, causing difficulty in saying where they would be at any one time.
However, good numbers of fish were taken by those anglers who preferred to spin in the coloured water.

As the fly fishers Sea Trout season draws to a close, it will not necessarily be remembered as a good one!

Sods Law, of cause, will now no doubt. give us a prolonged period of dry weather and low water conditions just when we do not need it!. Late August is the time when we can expect to see the Grilse begin to arrive, but only if we can get the same sort of water levels that has been happening since June.

Levels of water of one meter on the the Teifi gives us a chance. Keep your eye on the river levels on this page and give yourself some quality time.

Look forward to seeing you.

Well done to Mike Evans, our head guide, who caught and returned a massive 14lb Sea Trout from our own waters at Coedstre!!
